Title: Field Work

Author: [info]daisymaeevans
Alternate Links to Fic/Art: At the HP Canon Fest
Pairing: Ron/Hermione
Word Count: 2621
Rating: PG-13 (for language only)
Author's Website: Author's LJ ([info]daisymaeevans)
Why everyone should read this: This fic has it all: romance, action, suspense, humor, and smarts. The characterizations are perfect, the dialogue natural, and the plot believable. This is something that can easily fit between the pages of DH, somewhere between the last chapter and the epilogue.

title: Sixteen Quarters (and 4 Summers) Prologue/?
series: ST Fanfic Masterlist
fandom: Star Trek Reboot
pairing/characters: Jim Kirk, Sam Kirk, Spock, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov, Scotty, Bones, Winona Kirk, and others.
rating/warning: R for language and sex, het, slash and etc.
prompt/summary: it’s high school and it’s hell.
disclaimer: not mine, don’t profit, mean no offense to the profiting owners.

a/n: 1. yes, a high-school AU based off mostly off the reboot cast. If you need help visualizing we’ve got bb!Kirk: here and here and bb!Bones here and I won’t inflict bb!Zach on you. However, bb!Sam Kirk will be played by the every lovely bb!Shatner seen here and here.
2. as pairings become important, they’ll be added.

Sulu was at his side again. ‘Hey, Nee-nee,’ he said with a certain kind of grin that seemed suicidal for a boy with only a plastic army helmet to protect him.

Title: The Wolf and the Wind
Pairing(s): Draco Malfoy/Remus Lupin, Draco Malfoy/Roger Davies
Rating: R
Warning(s): AU, cross-gen, unrequited love, UST.
Summary: Shortly before Christmas 1998, no lesser person than Draco Malfoy appears on Remus Lupin’s doorstep, having a rather surprising request: a peaceful family celebration involving his aunt and cousin as well. But when Remus agrees he does not expect his relationship with Draco to take a completely new direction.
Author's Notes: Written for the [info]lupinbigbang. Remus obviously didn’t die in here, otherwise it’s very much canon compliant. I’d like to thank Martha for beta reading this and making me feel more comfortable with the story, especially the ending!

Because LJ isn't doesn't have a searchable database, I've put all my K/S stories on the K/S Archive and have been wondering where to put my K/Mc and S/Mc stories.  I recently came across Archive of our Own and have uploaded my remaining stories there.  All three of my K/Mc stories were originally posted here in this community last year:

This week's Bridge2Sickbay prompts will start going up in just a few minutes. New prompts every 30 minutes, 20 to write and post (not that you can't post late) and 10 to admire each other. We usually go 8 rounds, and there is a selection of prompts each round. Prompts usually list two characters (who can be written as a pairing or not) and a word, phrase, or image.

Anyway. Come join us. It's fun. If you want in on the chat (meebo), there's a link to the chat instructions at the top of the comm. Or, you can just write, no chatting. There will be new prompts at the top and bottom of the hour starting at 1:30 US Pacific. :)

I originally posted this at http://florahart.dreamwidth.org/1055422.html, where there are comment count unavailable comments. OpenID and/or anon comments are allowed, but sometimes locks and reading circles make going there complicated.

I have a question. Does anybody read LJ on Sundays? I've never quite been able to figure it out.

So guys, I'm a singer. I sing in front of other people fairly often, and I sing for myself every day. It's a natural thing--just randomly throughout the day I hear myself singing a few bars of something I'm thinking about, and whenever I get out of my car I sing whatever I heard last on the radio.

That said, I am *not* a dancer. And I didn't know dancers randomly danced in the same way I randomly sing until I lived with one. We'd be watching TV and a commercial jingle would come on without anything particularly enticing about the beat to me, and there he'd be, just bopping along.

So all of this is a way to say that there is *one* song that unfailingly makes me bop and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. Something about the bass line (which is really brilliant, btw), I guess, but whenever I hear it, I CAN'T HELP MOVING. This is not normal for me, but it's happy-making.

Miracle Goodnight by David Bowie

I love you in the morning sun, I love you in my dreams
I love the sound of making love, the feeling of your skin
The corner of your eyes, I long forevermore
I never want to say goodnight, miracle goodnight

I'm reading a really good fic right now, and I decided to share it with everyone! It's a long, awesomely paced post-Hogwarts/post-war story in which Hermione begins working as a Healer at Hogwarts, and Draco is one of her patients. It's really, really nicely done! Here are the details, I hope they intrigue you to check it out, and pls leave a review as well, for encouragement and such? Merci! ♥

Rating: M
Summary: After the war, Hermione treats the strange diseases that plague traumatized Hogwarts students, only to find that Draco Malfoy suffers from a particularly dangerous case. Forced to see each other in a new light, they struggle to understand their feelings.

Excerpt:

Malfoy still hadn't said anything. A few times along the way, he had groaned. "You have to let me help," Hermione said, not quite aware that she was still whispering. "This is going to kill you." She noticed that her hand was still on his arm and removed it hastily, expecting a snarky remark.

But she didn't get one. After a pause, Malfoy seemed to gather together enough breath to speak, "I…can't."

"You can't what?"

"I can't let you see what I did," he gasped out.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything. And I'm totally not making a profit.
Author's Note: This started in my Daily Drabble series, where the first commenter gets to select the theme/pairing for the next day. I started it when I got a request for a harlequin-esque Kirk/Spock drabble. The drabbles related to this fic can be found here, starting with #40. Thanks to [info]ladyblahblah for the read through!

Title: The Hogwarts Tinies or, After the Rowling
Author: Miss Catriona Mackay
Artist: Miss Chronographia von Strangehours
Rating: G
Characters: ensemble
Artist's Website: strange hours

Why you chose this piece: The Gashlycrumb Tinies: Or, after the Outing is a cult classic story of a children’s outing with disastrous results. With dark humor, each child’s macabre end is illustrated in pen and ink!
The Hogwarts Tinies captures the spirit of the original but with familiar Potterverse characters and settings and it’s less bleak as so much is AU.

Hello!

I'm looking for a beta to help me with my [info]dmhgaprilfools fic that's due on the 26th. I do have another Dramione one-shot that needs to be beta'd as well. Both are around 2,000 words.

I'm particularly worried about my characterisations and plots, so if you do take this up, please be as critical as possible!

Anyone interested, please reply ASAP!(: I'll be eternally grateful!

Thank you!

I've knocked up a good few hundred and I suspect Martin Johnson is into quadruple figures by now. And that ref had better pray he never meets Brian Moore on a dark night...
