I wrote a poem...
When my dear friend Lorett noted that her treadmill was dying, I was struck by inspiration!

Ode to a Treadmill

The 'whip whip' of your belt
And the 'thwap thwap' of my feet
Will be but distant mem'ry soon and I sigh.

Your motor grinds to a halt,
And it will be all your fault
As the pounds creep up and grasp me 'round the waist.

The size of me will increase
Because your workings ceased,
And no longer will be released my daily dose of endorphins.

And while it is true
That I did use you
As a clothes hanger more often than not,
I wail in despair
For it is unfair
To die and leave me to rot!

So goodbye, my dear old friend.
I fear this is the end.
I wish I could say I loved you, but I did not.

PS: I didn't promise you it was a good poem...

Hey, it's good to "hear" from you!

Your poem made me giggle all the way through. Forget about the pounds; where am I gonna hang my clothes?!
